BLACK IS NOT LACK

Nothing guarantees freedom like the working knowledge of truth! Truth, when discovered in any area of human endeavour delivers sweat-free success, as it confers on the possessor the knowledge of what to do. On the other hand, misinformation or the perversion of truth snares the deceived into the cauldron of oppression; hence, until truth is known freedom remains a mirage!
It wont take a genius to figure out the extra alphabet separating black and lack. It would have been rather pleasing to know that the similarity between these two words ends in the stable of literary articulation and do not transcend into the human world of realism; but not only is it felt in reality, it is fast becoming an hydra-headed problem for the inhabitants of the world.

On the continent of Africa, where the major chunk of black people resides in the world, the phenomenon of poverty has become a limiting factor to the advancement of her course. Many families are bereaved of loved ones simply because anti-malarial drugs cannot be afforded; hunger, a corollary of poverty also accounts for the death of children in proportions not known in the western world in this 21st century. Report from a charity organisation [CONCERN INTERNATIONAL] shows that a child dies every 7 seconds in Africa due to poverty. With such alarming statistics, one is forced to think about the plight of the unborn and what the future holds for children growing in this region, and since no human is involved in choosing his/her point of entry into this phase of existence, it wouldn’t be out of place to describe children of Africa as victims of circumstances!
In contrast to the gory tale of poverty and lack ravaging the soul of Africa, the continent is endowed with vast amount of mineral and natural resources, with virtually no country in the African state being an exception. Why then is this abundance not expressible in the lives of the citizenry? An evidence that demands a verdict!.
Few decades ago, the economic index of some African states and their Asian counterpart were at par; in this 21st century, not only has the economies of these Asian countries flourished, they now compete on the global scale favourably with mega economies of the west, whereas African economies contribute a meagre 1.5% of the global trade. Maybe a case of negligence, bad governance or a phenomenon best described as sub-human capacity on the part of Africans [blacks]; but it would be rather parochial should we conclude the case of the black man based solely on the premise of blacks in Africa without considering other black communities living beyond the shores of Africa.

On the world scene, several super powers have emerged and submerged with time; kingdoms such as the old Egyptian dynasty, the Persian empire and almighty Rome; all held sway with a portion of history, influencing the world with their wealth, military power and political power; but none of them compares with the USA- ‘the land of opportunities’ in terms of global economic influence. After the abolishment of slave trade in the mid 19th century, scores of black Africans were already integrated into the western system of living, with blacks owning 1.5% in the economic stake. A recent survey indicates that the statistic obtained two centuries ago still stands in this contemporary age. Black communities in major western nations like England, are dominantly found on the lower rung of the economic ladder, struggling to barely make ends meet! Social vices are mostly associated with blacks in major western countries, which indeed is a fact and not a matter of racism! Blacks in the western hemisphere are better tagged the ‘bling-community‘; borrowing the money they don’t have, to buy the things they don’t need, to impress the people that don’t like them. Most have a penchant for unnecessary pleasure thereby truncating the importance of a sound work ethics in the mind of the growing generation and undermining the value of core principle like integrity and faithfulness[ I would be quick to add that a good number of black people have done exceedingly well in their chosen field of endeavour without cutting corners or manipulating the economic systems].

Two fundamental similarities would be noted if we juxtapose blacks in Africa with blacks in Diaspora:
• They live in the midst of abundance and opportunity
• They are confronted with the menace of lack and poverty
What a paradox, living in the midst of abundance yet living with lack! this compels one to ask, DOES BEING BLACK CONNOTE LACK? A question begging profusely for an answer. In an attempt to answer this question , it is imperative to source for reasons people would live with lack while abundance lurks around.
One important and basic reason is attitude. This 8-lettered word infiltrates all aspect of human live. From attitude to work, attitude to the rule of law, attitude to available resources, attitude to fellow human beings……the list goes on and on.

Majority of people in the world’s poorest nations are deficient of good work ethics. The values of integrity and accountability which forms the bedrock of a viable working strata in a society have been replaced with complacency and corruption; and when the work force of any nation is perverse it permeates into the very soul of such nation leading to institutionalised corruption and poverty.
Another attitude problem on the part of the citizens is that relating to the rule of law. It is rather saddening that in the 21st century, respect for the rule of law is often taken inconsequentially in many black nations. A nation or organization without a set of rules guiding it’s affairs is bound to collapse, since everybody is free to do as occasion serve them; but more tragic is the case where laws are easily perverted to the convenience of individuals. In most poor nations ,where the rich and powerful call the shots, laws are adjusted to suit their request since nobody can confront them and bring them to book, the ordinary populace can get away with issues as long they are connected to appropriate authorities. This kind of attitude further entrenches perversion in the mind of people and with perversion comes poverty. Also, the concept of Due process is often a foreign tongue in poor countries, instead what obtains is the phenomenon of short cut which results in an erosion of values; and when values are traded for short-cut, decadence is inevitable!
Another major attitude problem is the perception of fellow citizens and respect for human dignity. The me, myself and I concept is easily recognised in many poor countries; majority tends to be obsessive with their own immediate gratification and forgets about the collective fortune of the society; individuals proceed ruthlessly to achieve goals irrespective of what their neighbour suffers from it.

On the part of the government, attitude towards resources has being a major concern in poor nations. Many African nations abounding in natural and mineral resources are victims of poverty due to the mismanagement attitude of the leaders. Priorities are often misplaced, as a result paramount issues are often trivialised while less important becomes overtly hyped. Personal greed and obsession with material paraphernalia of office have lured many leaders into squandering their nations available resources. In a case where purchasing private jets and adding the latest model of armoured cars becomes more important than implementing the health and educational policy of the government, untold hardship is introduced by stealth in the polity. Crass examples of greed would be observed in many African dictators, where some of these self-proclaimed messiahs are often richer than their nations! While the citizens are left to face infrastructural degradation and economic instability. These kinds of attitude to available resources easily betrays the future of any people to the cruel hand of poverty and ultimately servitude in the committee of nations.

Having examined the principal source of poverty to be dysfunctional attitudes, it would not be out of place to suggest a way out of poverty based on the same platform of attitude. In order to win the war on poverty and lack in black nations, a critical appraisal of these fundamental attitude problem has to be done, and a socio-politico-economic re-engineering should be carried out. Using the outcome of the appraisal as template. Laws should be promulgated to enhance implementation of the re-structuring process and appropriate law-upholding unit e.g. police should be vested with considerable power to mandate and if necessary enforce the new culture of ethics among the people. The crusade against institutionalised corruption should not be faceless, nobody should be treated as a sacred cow and different arms of government should serve as checkers for each other when abuse of office seems lurking [not as a witch-hunting process though].

In conclusion, if this fundamental question of attitude gets sorted, black nations and societies would have been re-aligned and re-integrated to the path of greatness, global marginalization would be forced to stop, and the perception of the world about the ‘man of colour’ would be that of dignity and positive values.
Only then would we begin to sing to the tune of UTOPIA!!!!!!!!!

Had I known: What are you really looking for?

Did you really need a long lasting relationship after marriage?
Did you need somebody that can really be your partner and that can stand by or with you in times of trials and persecutions?
In fact, how did you feel marriage to be?

Is it just that you need a companion that can stand with you come rain or shine or you really want to satisfy or gratify your sexual desires?

Please, you really need to know what you want before you jump into any man or woman because there is always POST LIFE AFTER THAT SATURDAY MARRIAGE.

You are welcome to a new world of relating and coping with somebody of different race or belief systems etc. How are you going to stand?

What is prompting you towards that girl or guy? Is it real and true love or material things i.e what you can gain that will definitely fade away.

Why did you go for that guy or lady?

Answers to all these questions will determine whether your marriage will stand or fall.

You need to answer all these questions before you continue that relationship or choose anybody.

Some in marriage are suffering but marriage is not designed for that but for fulfillment and happiness.

Answers to all these questions will be known to you in less than 2 and half years of your marriage and it may be too late for you to consider then so THINK NOW

Life is a choice. You chose that person and you must live with him/her with all that he/ she carries both negative and positive,

So look before you leap. There must be no comments from you after your choice.

In choosing your partner, the most important thing is this " CONSIDER YOUR FUTURE". I mean which kind of person did you want to be in future and is a must that you must not choose the person that does not want to live that kind of life.

Did you want to be a winner or a loser, a punching bag, lonely, married to a drunker, womanizer, prostitutes etc.

In fact, marriage is marrying yourself. Same kind of person that you are.

In physics, they say likes repel but opposites attract but in marriage, this is not so i tell you because in marriage likes attract but opposites repel.

Don’t be rule by money or security, See, in actual fact there is nothing like security or whatever but there is all like pure love towards your partner.
With love, couples can transform themselves in to what they are now into what they want to be. It is just a matter of time

How many rich people that we have in our society that are not contended. I tell you contentment is not in volume whether small or big but in heart and altitude.

IT IS THE MATTER OF THE HEART.

There is this saying, "look before you leap". Dont allow anybody to decieve you with sweet words and unrealistic promises. Had I known is the language of the fools

My advice is simply this, consider your future.

This may sound uncommon in our present day life in choosing your partner, it should not be based strongly on the kind of job, educational levels, family background etc. but in inmate abilities, character, kindness, courtesy, love etc. These are things we don’t see but exist.

For the things that we see are temporal but the things that we don’t see are eternal.

The fool considers now but the wise thinks of the future.

Are you really looking for happiness, peace or disaster? It is up to you to get what you want based on your choice

But I tell you that the subject of marriage is so important that you can not leave to chance because who you marry has a way of influencing your life for better or for worse

Some are crying inside. They can’t tell, why must you join the list.

Are you planning to marry somebody that will be cheating on you? This can be averted.

Life is a teacher. You don’t have to look too far. Study people around you, you will really have a lot to learn. The seeing eyes and hearing ears are made by God.

See, if the guy is really in love with you, He will not be demanding for your body before marriage. He may want to use you and dump you.

If he really loves you, he will wait for you, he that believes shall not make haste and remember that loves does not hurt.

Most guys have it at the back of their minds never to marry somebody they have tasted and toasted with before marriage
Why can’t you use your body as a tool of respect for guys? The weak wants it now but the strong is always patient. Why are you selling yourself so cheap?

You currently worth more in the future than you presently worth now. No matter what is happening to a girl, it should never be an excuse to sell or trade your body for anything.

Whatever is not right is definitely wrong. There is more to life than money.

Never let your age intimidate you to rush and choose a wrong partner. Now, everything that will last need time and must be tested. In a while you will know the sheep from the goat.

It is better to be slow and be steady than to be fast and be finished. Why must you sell your birthright for a morsel of meal?

My message is this, in choosing your partner and before saying yes to anybody THINK OF THE FUTURE. Leave the present. Never use your peers as yardstick into getting into relationship. You have to be very potent on your own.

Studies show that couples live longer than singles because they gratify each other and that men respect women that have means

Let your thought dwell on the future because their are many years to spend after that Saturday wedding day.

You decide for yourself. Did I want to end up in divorce, lonely, uncared for, if not, watch your steps with the guy or gal.

Time has a power of revealing the truth.

He that beleives shall not make haste

I don’t care will lead you to had I known

The easiest way for you to die young is to live with somebody you don’t like everyday

A word is enough for the wise. Look before you leap because not all that glitters are gold. Good luck.

SEASONS OF STRUGGLES: MORE THAN A TIME

Seasons of struggles: more than a time

When thou passessth through the water, i am with you, when though passesth through the river it shall not overwhelm you and when thou passesth through fire, it shall not burn you neither shall it flames kindle upon you........Bible

Their are seasons of struggles, more than a time, periods of struggles more than an happening.

One thing about struggles is this, it has a way of shapening us into becoming what we are meant to be. It deposited in us some core values that is essential for our success.

Their are some strenght and ruggedness that we experienced due to the fact that we have been in the furnace of affliction. Struggles are like purifyer. It takes away what is not good in us and add to us what we needed to become a better person.

There is always a lesson or more to learn when you are encountering struggles. It makes us to come to ourselves. In fact, it reveal us to us personally.

Our adversity or struggles make us to see some good things in us that we may never see when we are okay.

Like Henry Ford puts it, failure is an opportunity to begin again but in a more intelligent way.

Your dark moments seem so long that it seems as if the day we never break but definitely after darkness is light.

In your seasons of struggles, you feel alone, oppressed, cheated most of the times, you wonder what is God doing with your life. It seems so crazy that you are getting more darkness than you think you deserve but i tell you that it is a must for the day to break.

See, whatever happen to you in life, you have to look at it with a positive mental altitude.

Is the water half full or half empty.

Then, you have to know that there is no special problem. There is nobody with special struggles but common struggles. Dont allow anybody to put you in a negative emotion by saying that your case is a special one. Know that whatever you are experiencing has being experienced by people before.

One thing i also want you to know is that, to every mountain there is a peak, to every river there is a beginning and the end. So it is always, it shall come to pass. No matter what you are facing today, it has expiry date. It may seem as if it will never end but i am assuring you based on my personal experiences and what i have seen in the lives of people that there is an end to every affliction, burden and struggle.

You must also hold on to your dreams no matter what is happening to you. You may allow your struggles to shape your life positively but never allow your problems to influence your dreams negatively. Persisitence is the key and you must keep on keeping on. You just have to continue. Let me tell you this frank truth, it is not easy but you just have to hold on to your positive beliefs. The strenght to break through is in your persisitence. Dont give up your dreams and aspirations because of what is happeing to you now. Men must not quit trying in trying times.

Struggles are real and is a path in the making of a man. Dont feel strange when you are in your seasons of struggles. You will come out but you may not feel like it presently. Your season of struggles may last than you think.

There is a time of adversity but their are seasons of struggles. It seems as if the trouble you are going true now is going to end yet it lingers on that you expected. You are feeling as if you want to die that you can not hold on anymore but you can never die of it.

Their are times when pressure comes to you on all sides and you feel like getting bursted. You are so perplexed that you see yourself in the middle of struggles.

Their are seasons of troubles more than a time, periods. This continues like that, know that you are in your seasons or periods of struggles.

You may come out of one problem and you think you are true but before you know what is happening you are in another one just know that you are in your seasons of struggles more than a time or an happening not just a flash in the pan.

No matter what is happening to you today, it has happened also to people in the time past and they did overcame those obstacles , so cheer up, your victory is on the way.

There is no new thing under the sun. What is happening now has happened before and continue to happen. You are not the first one.

When you are in your seasons of struggles, it seems as if you are not going to make it but you will make it.

THE MISSING LINK

Whoever lay his hands on the plow and look back is not fit for the kingdom of God.......Bible

Dogged persevearance, Unyielding commitment,
Passionate pursuit, Tireless hope and total dedication

All of us got the dreams, the visions and the ideas. We took a step forward by pursuing our dreams and adding all ingredients of success to our efforts but why is it that very few of us succeed and get to the topmost top? Why?! Why?!! Why?!!!

Because all of us are attack with all manners at very difficult times in our life with worst possible obstacles but the very few that hold on and keep on trying in trying times made it to the top. There is no magic, THIS IS THE MISSING LINK

It is not talent, ability nor education that makes a winner a winner. It is persevearance that seperates the winners from the loser. The missing link.

He who knows how to endure will live to enjoy
He who knows how to persevere will live to see pleasure
He who knows how to wait will live to win
He who knows how to tarry will live to triumph

Hope against hope, when it seems as if all hope is lost, it is glaring, visible that is a close case, dead one, hopeless yet hope again.

When one hope finishes, hope again.
Abraham waited for the promise of a son Isaac for 25 good years. A close case, forgotten issue yet he hoped again that is how he got the promise

Joseph waited for 13 years from slavery to prison . It is never easy. Enduring the unbearable. Persevere against all odds before getting the promised throne.

Jesus waited for 33and half years before having what was original his before the foundation of the world walking and working with stack illetrates, nonentity, men of no identity and value before seating at the right hand of God.

Thomas edison conducted close to 10,000 experiemnts before getting how to make the lightbulbs. Abraham Lincoln failed and keep on for many years and times before becoming the US president.

Dont give up is the word and keep on trying is the language. Their are fiery trials. Furnace of affliction. Times that test men souls.

David inspite anoited has a king had to go through many attempts assasinations, living in caves and hideout and mountains.

Persevearance is the method and language of the champion. I will not stop until my good is better and my better is best.

It is what seperates the winner from the loser. It is what made a winner the winner. The missing link in the life of a loser.

When did you need to stop pursuing your dreams and goals? Until life goes out of you. It is better not to begin than to begin and not finish
The price of success is high and hard. Persistence is the key. No matter how long it takes you to get to your dreams, you need to persevere.

Winners never quit and quiters never win. It is going to be tough and not going to be easy.

The way of success is always uphill.

This is the missing link

You need to keep on striving and fighting against all odds. You need to remain a fighter beacuse throne is not for a child but for a fighter.

It is not talents that makes a man successful or ability. If it is so, why is it that we have so many unsuccessful talented people all around, gifted failures and underacheiver acedemicians.

Life will thrown at you all the challenges it can to stop you but you need to KEEP ON KEEPING ON. Be all out.

God give me the courage it takes to stay on when adversity and obstacles pay their normal visits on many occassion.

My soul has no pleasure in those that draw back...... Bible

Identity : Be yourself

Never be afraid to walk the path alone. Know thy own way and walk therein. Conformity is a killer. Indeed, a killer of star. People that made impact on earth are people that identified with their WAY and walk therein.

Why must you live the life you are expected to live? Why must you follow the path people have mapped out for you. Go for what you like not what others like. Do what please you not what please others. Must you spend all your life living to please other people. It seems as if you have surrender your life to the dictates of others. You are no more in control.

The definition of insanity is to keep on doing the same thing and expects diffrent results. Walking alone may be lonely but it has a future. Why are you choosing a career they chose for you or wife they chose for you when you are neither robot nor computer.

You alone know what fit you. Nobody can know you more than you. You alone have first hand information about yourself. Others have assumptions and guesses about you. Must you live your life the way people want you to live it. This is merely nothing but bondage. Dont allow any condition may be lack of money make you to surrender your life.
With this i guaranteed you that you can not go too far. Even the bible says a pleaser of men can not be a servant of God.

Everybody is free to say anything about you. Your opinoin of you about yourself is the most important thing. Men that shook their worlds are people that kept to their identities. Though advice is good but never the one that contradicts with your personality, Remember their are a lot of prophets of doom. Life is short dont waste away your precious life.

There was this young man that his father wanted him to study medicine in the university against his own wish, on his graduation day, he kept on crying and peole were wondering what on earth is happening to this guy. He bursted out and told his father that i have lived all my live trying to please you, here is your certificate, this is what you want but let me go ahead and pursue my own calling. What a tragedy and a waste of time.

Never follow the status quo. Locate your own path. What is good for others may never be good for you. If you be like somebody, who will be like you. It is time for you to locate your own giftings, talents, abilities etc. Greatness begins with discovering of self. You need time with yourself in solitude to commune with your own inner being and the power of God from above to discover yourself.

Dont surrender your life to other peoples' choices. Never tailor your life to fit another peoples' programme. Let me warn you, if you dont have a plan you will defintely fall into other peoples' plan. Be courageous and do things your own way.

Stay Blessed
